Job summary

Adyen is seeking an Associate Commercial Counsel based in Amsterdam to join the global Deal Desk within the Commercial Legal team. You will negotiate complex vendor and partner contracts, draft negotiation playbooks, and train internal teams on contracting strategies to support Adyen’s growth.

The role requires 3+ years of legal experience with strong commercial contracting skills and the ability to work across multiple jurisdictions in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of legal experience, with strong commercial contracting and/or transactional experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly and explain decisions to stakeholders.
• Experience educating others and training when needed.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice across procurement, partnerships, product, and regulatory teams globally.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex, multi-jurisdictional commercial agreements.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks and propose improvements.
• Advise on early-stage disputes and manage initial phases of conflicts.
• Drive legal automation and process improvements to scale the team.
• Work autonomously in cross-functional settings.
• Build relationships with colleagues, leaders, and stakeholders.
