Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Data Platform Engineer (Mid-level) based in the Netherlands to transform and scale a data and ML platform. You will build self-service tooling, implement IaC modules, and improve deployment pipelines across data engineering, backend, and infrastructure teams.

You will participate in an AI-enabled engineering culture, own platform tooling roadmap, and collaborate to deliver reliable data services for a global shipping and fulfillment platform.

Qualifications

• Experience owning a deployment path end-to-end, including building a pipeline, troubleshooting failures, and documenting the solution in a runbook.
• Approximately two years or more of professional experience in software, data, platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficient in Python and SQL and able to use them regularly in professional tasks.
• Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases, explain how they work, and troubleshoot issues.
• Experience with Docker and familiarity with AWS cloud concepts.
• Willingness to work across data engineering, backend, and infrastructure disciplines.
• Comfort using AI coding assistants and reviewing generated code for safety and correctness.
• Proactive ownership mindset and accountability for systems modified.

Responsibilities

• Improve CI/CD pipelines by analyzing existing workflows and adapting them for reliable software delivery.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code modules aligned with repo patterns.
• Apply data governance standards including access controls and retention policies.
• Build reusable template repositories with preconfigured CI/CD, IaC, and governance standards.
• Create reusable modules to simplify pipeline creation and standardize workflows.
• Improve technical documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides for engineers.
• Own data access workflows and manage access-request processes.
• Progress toward full ownership of the template repository and infrastructure modules including roadmap decisions.
• Collaborate with data, backend, and infrastructure teams to boost platform reliability.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development tools while validating and explaining generated code.
