Job summary

DHL eCommerce Lage Weide is seeking a Medior Data Platform Engineer to help build the foundation for Data & Analytics. The role focuses on the underlying data, infrastructure, security, metadata and deployment to enable safe, reliable AI usage on our platform.

You will contribute to data pipelines, platform services and reusable components, and work with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into technical solutions, while continuously improving our tooling and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level education or higher with practical HBO thinking and work style.
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Deep knowledge in one or more data, cloud, platform engineering or DevOps areas.
• Preferably experience with Databricks.
• Drive to automate and simplify work processes.
• Experience collaborating with development and/or data engineering teams.
• Interest in AI, automation and AI-assisted software development.
• Good command of Dutch language.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize data pipelines, platform services and reusable components.
• Build scalable, reliable and future-proof data solutions on the central data platform.
• Automate management, deployment, monitoring and other recurring tasks.
• Analyze and resolve incidents, performance issues and bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts and product owners to translate questions into technical solutions.
• Apply and further develop best practices around security, governance, data quality and platform engineering.
• Work on a platform where data is more findable, understandable and machine-readable.
• Explore how Generative and Agentic AI can support our work, e.g., smarter development, monitoring, documentation and management.
