Job summary

Ohpen, based in Amsterdam, is seeking a Data Governance & Data Management Engineer to build and improve a scalable data governance platform within the Ohpen Data team. You will work with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure data is defined, managed, and governed across the platform.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience with data governance, data management, or data architecture in a financial institution or similarly complex environment
• Proficiency in Dutch and English
• Understanding of data lineage, data lifecycle management, and data quality frameworks
• Experience working in cross-functional environments with business and engineering stakeholders
• Hands-on with data systems and codebases
• Experience with data platforms and data modeling
• Interest in AI-assisted development or automation

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve the data governance platform, including metadata, lineage, and data definitions
• Act as SME in data governance during client implementations and discovery phases
• Contribute to the data lake and expand data products for near real-time data
• Strengthen data stewardship, data ownership, definitions, and consistency across teams
• Collaborate on internal data initiatives across cross-functional teams
