Job summary

Datacation in the Netherlands is seeking a Senior Data/AI Engineer to drive complex data and AI projects, combining deep technical work with coaching colleagues across Amsterdam, Eindhoven, and East Netherlands.

You will translate business challenges into scalable data/AI solutions, design modern platforms in Azure, and guide projects from design to implementation while helping grow our East Netherlands office.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, data science, ML, and/or MLOps.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, Python, SQL, data modelling, and AI tooling.
• Experience guiding and coaching colleagues.
• Ability to explain technical choices clearly to stakeholders.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with Dutch language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Translating business challenges into scalable data and AI solutions.
• Acting as a technical sparring partner for clients, consultants, and engineers.
• Designing and building modern data and AI platforms in Azure.
• Supporting architecture decisions, scope definition, and technical decision-making.
• Working on data and AI challenges, GenAI, AI Agents, RAG, and MLOps.
• Structuring projects and helping define deliverables and approaches.
• Mentoring junior and medior colleagues.
• Collaborating with Business Development to translate needs into solutions.
• Presenting technical solutions and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Contributing to the development of our East Netherlands office.
