Job summary

Sia is hiring a Data Engineer Consultant to work on diverse client projects and internal Sia AI solutions in Amsterdam. You will build data pipelines, deploy on cloud platforms, and contribute to CI/CD and IaC efforts in a DevOps culture.

We value 1-3 years of relevant experience, strong Python skills, and familiarity with PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Fluency in English and Dutch is required, with a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree with a strong quantitative component (e.g. Econometrics, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance).
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud or Software Engineering.
• Strong Python skills and knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Familiarity with at least one cloud services platform (GCP, AWS, Azure) or willingness to learn.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD and Kubernetes.
• DevOps mindset with ownership of code lifecycle and IaC concepts/tools (Terraform).
• Security awareness: certificate management, HTTPS, OAuth2, credentials management.
• Interest in data and AI topics; strong communication in English and Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Work on client projects and building Sia AI solutions with the French Data Engineering team.
• Develop data pipelines and ETL scripts in Big Data environments.
• Leverage Cloud services (GCP/AWS/Azure), Docker, Kubernetes to deploy data-intensive applications.
• Implement CI/CD processes and support deployment of Data Science projects at client sites.
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code practices and security hardening.
