Job summary

Wilson & Sterling Consulting is seeking a Cyber Security Architect to support a major public sector cyber transformation project. The position is based in the Netherlands, with Utrecht on-site 1–2 days per week and a long-term freelance engagement (initial 12 months with extension).

You will apply IAM, PKI and HSM expertise to design secure architectures and collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Strong Linux and container skills, plus Go/Java scripting, are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience with IAM, PKI and HSM solutions.
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS).
• Experience in software development or scripting (Go, Java, etc.).
• Ability to analyze complex issues in enterprise environments.
• Understanding of security architectures and related components.

Job description

Our client, operating across the public sector, is undergoing the largest Cyber Security transformation to date & we are currently looking for a number of Cyber Security Architects.

Required skills :

• Knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and cryptographic solutions, including Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
• Knowledge of network technologies, preferably at a low level (including TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, TLS, and network protocols).
• Recent experience with or demonstrable affinity for software development and scripting (e.g., Go, Java, or similar programming languages).
• Experience analysing and resolving complex technical issues within enterprise environments.
• Understanding of security architectures and the underlying technical components that comprise them.
• Good Linux and container technology skills

Nice to have skills :

• Strong analytical skills and an intrinsic motivation to understand and solve complex technical problems.
• Solution-oriented and result-driven, with the ability to operate effectively in a complex and dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to independently conduct technical discussions with suppliers and external partners.

Logistics:

• Holder of a Dutch passport for screening purposes
• 1/2 to days a week on site in Utrecht

This will be a long term Freelance contract, initial 12-month engagement plus extension.
