Yusen Logistics (Deutschland) GmbH in Moerdijk is seeking an experienced Team Leader Customs Operations to lead and develop a team of customs professionals, ensuring accurate and timely declarations and bonded warehouse administration.

You will drive continuous improvement, act as Key User for customs software, ensure compliance with VAT and customs laws, and collaborate with the Customs Manager Netherlands on projects and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant experience in customs or logistics.
• Experience supervising or leading customs/exports teams in logistics.
• Solid knowledge of customs legislation and VAT requirements.

Responsabilités

• Leading, coaching, and developing a team of customs professionals.
• Ensuring accurate and timely execution of customs activities, including declarations and bonded warehouse administration.
• Monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement.
• Acting as Key User for customs software systems and coordinating reporting and payments.
• Ensuring compliance with customs legislation, VAT regulations, and customer requirements.
• Supporting internal and external audits, including AEO-related activities.
• Identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
• Managing representation agreements and annual reviews.

Your Responsibilities at Customs Team Leader:

• Leading, coaching, and developing a team of customs professionals
• Ensuring the accurate and timely execution of all customs activities, including customs declarations and bonded warehouse administration
• Monitoring operational performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
• Acting as Key User for customs software systems and coordinating reporting, reconciliations, and customs-related payments
• Ensuring compliance with customs legislation, VAT regulations, internal policies, and customer requirements
• Supporting internal and external audits, including AEO-related activities
• Identifying operational risks and implementing corrective and preventive actions
• Managing direct and indirect representation agreements, including annual reviews
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, customs authorities, and other governmental agencies
• Collaborating closely with the Customs Manager Netherlands on process improvements, projects, and strategic initiatives

Your Profile at Customs Team Leader:

• A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
• Experience in a supervisory, coordinating, or senior customs role within logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations
• Strong knowledge of customs legislation, international trade regulations, and VAT requirements
• Experience working with customs and compliance-related systems
• Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to motivate and develop others
• Excellent organizational and prioritization capabilities
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Professional proficiency in Dutch and English; additional language skills such as French are an advantage
