Job summary

Yusen Logistics (Deutschland) GmbH is seeking an Air Import Specialist at Schiphol Airport to coordinate and manage air import shipments from arrival to final delivery. You will ensure accurate processing, maintain documentation, and keep customers informed across domestic and international deliveries.

The role requires 2–3 years in air freight forwarding (imports preferred), strong communication, and solid Dutch and English skills.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in air freight forwarding, preferably imports
• MBO-level education or equivalent working and thinking level
• Knowledge of customs procedures and international freight documentation
• Experience with customs declarations is an advantage
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong administrative accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken
• A flexible and customer-focused attitude

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administrate air import shipments from arrival to final delivery
• Ensure shipments are processed accurately and customers are informed
• Prepare and maintain shipment documentation
• Enter and manage data in operational systems
• Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards
• Maintain daily contact with customers, agents, carriers, and overseas offices
• Provide excellent customer service and proactive communication
• Prepare customs-related documentation and handling related correspondence
• Resolve operational irregularities and shipment exceptions
• Follow up on claims and support continuous service improvement
• Support export operations when required, working closely with operations, sales, and customer service

Your Responsibilities:

As an Air Import Specialist, you are responsible for coordinating and administrating air import shipments from arrival through to final delivery. You ensure that shipments are processed accurately, customers are kept informed, and all relevant documentation and customs requirements are handled correctly.

• Preparing customs-related documentation and handling associated correspondence
• Resolving operational irregularities and shipment exceptions

• Supporting export operations when requiredWorking closely with colleagues from operations, sales, and customer service

Your Profile as AFF Import Employee:

You are a detail-oriented logistics professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced international environment. You can prioritize effectively, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and remain calm under pressure.

In addition, you bring:
