Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Hoofddorp hires a Customer Relations Specialist to manage import shipments from A to Z. You coordinate with customers, carriers, airlines, customs, and on-site teams, ensuring smooth operations and proactive issue resolution.

You will work in rotating shifts, including weekends, with a path toward hybrid work and strong focus on customer satisfaction and continuous process improvement.

Job description

At DHL Global Forwarding in Hoofddorp, we make sure import shipments from all over the world enter the Netherlands smoothly and efficiently. As a Customer Relations Specialist, you are the primary point of contact for our customers and the essential link between every party involved in the import process.

From the moment a shipment is airborne to the moment it reaches the customer, you’re in control. You liaise with customers, carriers, airlines, customs, colleagues across the globe, and your own on-site team. You proactively track shipments, identify irregularities, and resolve issues the moment they arise.

Because import operations run 24/7, we’re looking for someone who’s flexible and willing to work in rotating shifts, including occasional weekend shifts.

Your Responsibilities

• Managing import shipments from A to Z: from arrival notification to final delivery
• Daily communication with customers, carriers, airlines, customs, and internal teams
• Proactively informing customers about shipment status, lead times, and special situations
• Administrative updates in our system (CW1) and ensuring accurate billing
• Processing rates, handling claims, and identifying improvement opportunities
• Maintaining strong customer relationships and spotting commercial potentials
