Job summary

Meesterbaan zoekt een Cover Teacher voor de periode 01.11.2026 tot 31.07.2027 bij de Europese School Den Haag in Den Haag. Je vult lessen aan bij afwezigheid en zorgt voor een rustige, gestructureerde leeromgeving.

Je levert lessen met docentmateriaal, begeleidt leerlingen en bewaakt voortgang. Je bent flexibel met sterke klasmanagement en werkt samen met vaksecteurs en collega’s in een internationale leeromgeving.

Qualifications

• Sterke klasmanagement en een proactieve leeromgeving.
• Uitstekende communicatie met studenten, van alle niveaus.
• Inzet om leeractiviteiten continu te laten verlopen.

Responsibilities

• Lessen overnemen als leraren afwezig zijn en zorgen voor continuïteit.
• Lessen geven met materialen van de vakdocent/afdeling.
• Leerlingen begeleiden, voortgang monitoren en leerlingen motiveren.
• Samenwerken met vakcoördinatoren en collega’s in een internationale setting.

The Cover Teacher team plays a crucial role in ensuring continuity of learning across the Secondary School. As part of this department, you support students by stepping into lessons whenever teachers are absent, maintaining a calm, structured and positive learning environment. Cover Teachers work across all subjects and year groups, so flexibility, adaptability and strong classroom management are essential. You will deliver lessons using materials prepared by the subject teacher or department, guide students through the planned activities, and ensure learning continues smoothly. The role requires a student-centred mindset, confidence in working with diverse groups, and the ability to quickly build rapport with learners. Collaboration with Subject Coordinators and colleagues is key, as you help uphold the school’s high standards and contribute to a supportive, international learning community.
