Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent.
  • 8–12 years in CI/Lean/Operational Excellence across distribution, fulfillment, logistics, or manufacturing.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required.
  • Experience leading large-scale process-improvement initiatives with measurable gains.
  • Experience with DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience in highly automated distribution, warehouse or regulated environments preferred.

Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Continuous Improvement Manager to accelerate operational excellence, productivity and process efficiency across our European Distribution Centre, a sophisticated, high-volume and regulated medical device distribution operation. The role will systematically identify and eliminate waste, variation, bottlenecks and unnecessary complexity across receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, VAS, labelling, shipping and supporting processes. The successful candidate will challenge established ways of working, redesign processes and lead measurable and sustainable improvements in productivity, flow, cost, capacity, quality and service.

This is a hands-on improvement leadership role requiring a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, deep distribution-centre experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the confidence and intrinsic motivation to constructively challenge the status quo. The Continuous Improvement Manager will be a member of the Site Leadership Team and a key partner to the Site Leader and functional leaders in defining and executing the site's operational excellence and productivity agenda.

Responsibilities
Process Improvement and Operational Efficiency

Systematically analyse and redesign end-to-end warehouse processes to eliminate waste, complexity, delays and non-value-added activities while improving productivity, flow, quality, service and cost.

Lean Six Sigma and Structured Problem Solving

Apply Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, root-cause analysis, standard work and other structured methodologies to solve complex operational problems and deliver sustainable process improvements.

Productivity, Capacity and Material Flow

Identify and implement structural opportunities to improve labour productivity, throughput, capacity and material flow while reducing bottlenecks and optimising the utilisation of people, equipment, automation and infrastructure.

Continuous Improvement Portfolio and Benefits Delivery

Build and manage a prioritised CI roadmap, leading high-impact initiatives from problem definition through implementation and sustainment and ensuring measurable operational and financial benefits are delivered.

Daily Management, Standardisation and Process Discipline

Strengthen operational discipline through standard work, visual management, KPI routines and process controls, ensuring successful improvements are embedded, sustained and replicated.

CI Capability and Culture

Build CI capability by coaching managers, supervisors and frontline employees in Lean thinking and structured problem solving and fostering a culture of ownership, curiosity and continuous improvement.

Data, Analytics and Performance Insight

Use operational data, shop-floor observations, time studies and performance analysis to identify hidden losses, establish fact-based baselines and translate findings into clear improvement priorities and business cases.

Change Leadership and Constructive Challenge

Act as a credible and independent change agent who constructively challenges existing processes, assumptions and practices and builds stakeholder commitment to implement lasting improvement.

Automation, Technology and Process Design

Partner with Operations, Engineering, IT, Maintenance and automation specialists to optimise the interaction between processes, systems, equipment and automation and improve utilisation, flow and operational reliability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team and collaborate across Operations, Quality, Engineering, IT, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Customer Logistics and Transportation to optimise total site performance while maintaining safety, quality, compliance and customer requirements.

Education & Work Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree with 8-12 years of related experience
Education & Work Preferences
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean, Operational Excellence, or process improvement roles within distribution, fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing, or other complex operational environments.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale process improvement initiatives that deliver measurable gains in productivity, cost, quality, capacity, or service.
  • Strong experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in highly automated distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or regulated environments is preferred.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving sustainable organisational change

The anticipated base pay range for this position is EUR 90.000 - EUR 120.000 annually. The actual salary varies based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.
