Job summary

Hollister Incorporated is seeking a hands-on Supervisor for its European Distribution Centre in Roosendaal. You will lead a team of 15–30 associates, driving safety, quality and productivity while translating site priorities into clear direction for the shop floor.

You will collaborate with Working Coordinators, Operations Management and support functions to ensure reliable distribution performance that serves customers and patients.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of warehouse/distribution operations experience.
  • Minimum 3 years direct people-leadership experience in an operational setting.
  • Experience in regulated medical device or quality-critical environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of 15–30 employees on the shop floor.
  • Organize daily work, staffing, and resources to meet targets.
  • Monitor safety, quality, and productivity KPIs and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory procedures.
  • Manage attendance and staffing in coordination with HR and Operations Management.
  • Lead daily team meetings and communicate priorities and actions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and Lean initiatives.
  • Provide training and development for the team and succession planning.
  • Act as escalation point for operational issues and risk management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supervisors, Quality, Engineering and maintenance.

Job description

At Hollister, our Distribution Operations teams play a critical role in ensuring life-changing medical products reach customers and patients safely, accurately, and on time. As a Supervisor, you will lead a team of 15–30 associates within our European Distribution Centre, creating a safe, engaged, and high-performing work environment while driving operational excellence.

This hands-on leadership role combines people leadership, operational execution, performance management, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for translating business priorities into clear direction for your team, developing employee capability, and ensuring safety, quality, service, and productivity expectations are consistently achieved.

Working closely with Working Coordinators, Operations Management, and support functions, you will maintain a strong presence on the warehouse floor and play a key role in delivering reliable distribution performance that supports both our customers and the patients who depend on our products.

This is an on-site leadership position within our European Distribution Centre

Summary

This hands-on leadership position combines people management, operational execution, performance management, and continuous improvement. The Supervisor coaches and develops employees, drives engagement and accountability, actively manages performance, and ensures safety, quality, service, and productivity targets are consistently met. Working closely with working Coordinators and cross-functional teams, the Supervisor maintains a strong and visible presence on the shop floor to support operational excellence and team success.

The Supervisor leads a team of approximately 15–30 employees within a complex, high-volume medical device distribution operation. The role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable daily operations while translating site priorities into clear direction for employees on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

1. People Leadership and Engagement
Lead, coach and motivate employees through visible and consistent leadership, clear expectations, regular feedback and effective performance management, while building a culture of trust, respect, accountability and continuous improvement.

2. Daily Operational Execution
Organize and manage daily work within the assigned area, ensuring appropriate staffing, skills and resources are available and that workload, priorities and production targets are executed safely, reliably and on time.

3. Performance Management
Actively monitor KPIs covering safety, quality, service, productivity, cost and attendance, identify deviations and root causes, and implement timely corrective actions to restore or improve performance.

4. Safety, Quality and Compliance
Ensure employees consistently follow applicable safety, quality, regulatory and operating procedures, address unsafe or non-compliant situations immediately and support investigation and follow-up of incidents, deviations and corrective actions.

5. Workforce and Attendance Management
Manage daily staffing, absence, leave, time registration and workforce availability, ensuring appropriate coverage while maintaining disciplined attendance and absenteeism management in cooperation with HR and Operations Management.

6. Communication and Daily Management
Lead daily team meetings, briefings and performance discussions, ensuring employees understand operational priorities, KPI performance, issues, actions and relevant site or business communications.

7. Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement opportunities to improve process efficiency, productivity, quality and material flow, actively involve employees in problem solving and support Lean, Continuous Improvement and other site improvement initiatives.

8. Training and Development
Ensure employees are appropriately trained and qualified for their roles, identify development needs and work with relevant support functions to strengthen skills, flexibility and overall team capability.

9. Escalation and Problem Solving
Act as the first operational escalation point for issues within the assigned area, resolve problems at the appropriate level and escalation significant risks relating to service, safety, quality, staffing or equipment in a timely and structured manner.

10. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Working Coordinators, other Supervisors, Operations Management, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, HR and other support functions to ensure smooth end-to-end operations and effective resolution of operational issues.

Education & Work Preferences

Required work experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution centre, logistics or comparable operational environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct people-leadership experience in an operational setting.
  • Demonstrated experience managing daily operational performance, staffing and productivity.
  • Experience coaching employees and addressing performance, attendance and behavioural issues.
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality and operational discipline.
  • Experience working with KPIs, structured daily management and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in a regulated, medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare or other quality-critical environment is advantageous.
  • Experience in an automated or mechanized distribution environment is advantageous.

Education requirements

  • Minimum MBO level 4 or equivalent level achieved through education and relevant work experience.
  • Additional education or certification in logistics, leadership, Lean or Continuous Improvement is advantageous.
