Cityförster in Rotterdam is seeking a senior Communications & PR Lead to shape our external visibility and public narrative. You will translate ideas, projects, and values into clear communication across platforms, languages, and audiences, combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

You will lead positioning and press strategy, craft precise messages, and ensure the right tone, visuals, and timing across channels.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing skills in English; Dutch or German an advantage.

We're looking for a Communications & PR Lead

Location: Rotterdam (or hybrid)
Start: As soon as possible
Hours: 32–40 per week

Your Role

We are seeking a senior communications professional to lead our external visibility and help shape the public narrative of CITYFÖRSTER. You will be responsible for translating our ideas, projects, and values into clear and compelling communication — across platforms, languages, and audiences.

You combine strategic thinking with hands‑on execution: from positioning and press strategy to crafting precise messages and ensuring the right tone, visuals, and timing.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Leading the development and implementation of our overall communications strategy
• Managing and mentoring the communications team (or coordinating external collaborators)
• Overseeing media relations, press releases, and publications
• Guiding and editing award entries, project texts, and tenders
• Curating and supervising social media, newsletters, and website content
• Ensuring consistency and strength in brand identity and tone of voice
• Advising management on positioning and public engagement
• Representing CITYFÖRSTER at events, exhibitions, and conferences where appropriate

You Bring

• A university degree in communications, architecture, design, or cultural management
• At least 5–7 years of experience in communications or PR within the creative industries
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English (Dutch or German are an advantage)
• Strategic awareness of how architecture and design practices engage the public realm
• Strong visual sensibility and command of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Experience managing multi-channel communication and coordinating teams or freelancers
• A confident, curious, and collaborative mindset
