Job summary

VistaPrint in the Netherlands seeks a Workforce Health & Reintegration Manager to drive transformative absence management, combining empathetic coaching with AI-enabled workflow optimization on our shop floor. You will serve as the bridge between ill employees, line managers, the onsite Occupational Physician, and external partners, shaping compliant, proactive health processes.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on case management experience in an operational, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
• Proven track record in reducing absence rates through proactive interventions and structural process improvements.
• Experience handling complex mental health cases, long-term illnesses, crisis management, and shopfloor labor dynamics.
• In-depth expertise in the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter - WVP) and UWV regulations.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.

• Data-Driven Prevention & Root Cause Analysis: utilize workforce insights and predictive analytics to recommend actions to senior management.
• Manager Enablement & Frequent Absence Coaching: coach line managers in empathetic, solution-oriented conversations.
• Health Infrastructure & Initiatives: develop catalogs for light/adjusted duties and lead health/vitality projects.

Are you ready to drive structural transformation in workforce health, legally compliant reintegration, and modern prevention? We are looking for an experienced, solution oriented Workforce Health & Reintegration Manager who will revolutionize our health management, combining empathetic human coaching with modern, AI-enabled process optimization.

In this key position, you focus on what employees can do, enabling sustainable employability across our operational site. You serve as the strategic and operational bridge between employees on sick leave, line managers, our on-site Occupational Physician, and external partners.

As we leverage central AI capabilities and automated platforms, you will help reimagine our end-to-end absence workflows, reducing manual handoffs, speeding up support delivery, and creating a proactive health culture.

Your Mission

You combine complex, high-touch case management and manager coaching with proactive health transformation, data analytics, and AI-enabled workflow optimization. Operating in a phased evolution, you balance acute risk mitigation and leadership enablement with the continuous evolution of our digital health architecture.

As a self-insurer for the Dutch Sickness Benefits Act (ZW) and WGA, you also govern case progress handled by our external self-insurance partner, minimizing long-term financial exposure.

What You Will Do

1. Advanced Case Management, Manager Enablement & Legal Compliance

Strategic Single Point of Contact: Act as the expert consultant for complex absence cases, guiding employees, managers, the Occupational Physician, HR Business Partners, and Safety/Quality teams.

Onsite Physician Coordination: Prepare and facilitate weekly consultation hours with our onsite Occupational Physician, translating medical assessments into actionable, compliant work-capability plans.

Gatekeeper Expertise & Risk Prevention: Ensure 100% legal compliance under the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter - WVP), proactively safeguarding the organization against UWV wage sanctions.

High-Touch Reintegration Coaching: Supervise complex Track 1 and Track 2 reintegration processes. Provide empathetic, face-to-face coaching and conflict resolution where automated tools reach their limits.

Governance of External Partners: Oversee our external self-insurance partner for post-employment/long-term cases, driving active claim recovery and intervention when necessary.

2. Proactive Prevention, Vitality & AI Workflow Optimization

Workflow Reimagine & AI Integration: Partner with People Systems & Automation teams to implement Tier-1 automated/AI-driven intake, data synthesis, and compliance tracking. Continuously identify opportunities to reduce administrative touchpoints and accelerate time-to-information.

Data-Driven Prevention & Root Cause Analysis: Utilize workforce insights, absence trends, and predictive analytics to identify departmental patterns and deliver concrete recommendations to senior management.

Manager Enablement & Frequent Absence Coaching: Coach line managers conducting empathetic, solution-oriented conversations for frequent short-term absence notifications.

Health Infrastructure & Initiatives: Develop practical catalogues for light/adjusted duties on the shop floor, support workplace accommodations, and lead health/vitality projects (e.g., Preventive Medical Examinations - PMO).

Your Qualifications

Professional Experience

3–5+ years of hands-on case management experience in an operational, manufacturing, or logistics environment (not purely back-office admin).

Proven track record in reducing absence rates through proactive interventions and structural process improvements.

Experience handling complex mental health cases, long-term illnesses, crisis management, and shopfloor labor dynamics.

Technical Skills & Legal Knowledge

In-depth expertise in the Dutch Gatekeeper Improvement Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter - WVP) and UWV regulations.

CROV® certification (Casemanager Regie op Verzuim) or equivalent recognized Dutch qualification.

Tech & AI Capability: Strong affinity for modern HR technology; experience or strong willingness to work with GenAI tools, prompt engineering, low-code/no-code AI agent management, AI agents for workflow synthesis, and HR analytics/dashboards.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

Outstanding empathetic communication paired with clear, decisive decision making.

Fluency in Dutch and English

Ability to balance conflicting interests between employees, supervisors, physicians, UWV, the Works Council, and HR management.
