  • Monitor carrier performance using data and KPIs such as delivery performance and transit times.
  • Analyse performance trends and discuss results with carriers to drive improvements.
  • Prepare Monthly Business Reviews for customers and carriers.
  • Act as first escalation point for carrier issues and coordinate resolutions.
  • Support onboarding of new customers and transport providers.
  • Identify and drive optimisation initiatives within transport processes.
  • Coordinate with carriers during peak volumes to maintain service levels.
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Operations, Customer Service and carriers.

Job description

As a Carrier Specialist within the Transport Control Tower of DHL Supply Chain, you play a key role in managing and optimising the performance of our transport carriers. The position is linked to our headquarters in Eindhoven but involves working across several DHL locations in the Netherlands and Belgium. By analysing performance data, monitoring KPIs and building strong relationships with our carriers, you directly contribute to the quality of our transport services and help our customers achieve and improve their desired service levels.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement within transport operations.

What can you expect from DHL?

The employment conditions depend on whether you are employed under a Belgian or Dutch contract.

If you are employed under a Belgian contract
  • An attractive gross monthly salary ranging from €3,707 to €4,943 upon entry, depending on your experience and expertise, with growth potential up to €6,178 gross per month.
  • A functional lease car, including a fuel card or charging card. Private use is only permitted if you pay the applicable employee contribution and taxable benefit. These amounts depend on the vehicle’s purchase value and applicable Dutch government regulations and may change annually.
  • A full-time position with flexible working hours within a daytime schedule.
  • 30 vacation days.

If you are employed under a Dutch contract
  • A full-time position of 40 hours per week, with a high level of responsibility and ownership.
  • A competitive salary in Scale 10, ranging from €3,468.57 to €4,689.12 gross per month, with growth potential up to €5,727.27, depending on your experience and expertise.
  • A functional lease car for business use only, including a fuel card or charging card.
  • Flexible working hours within a daytime schedule.
  • 8% holiday allowance.

Your Responsibilities As a Carrier Specialist

As Carrier Specialist, you are responsible for monitoring, evaluating and improving carrier performance. You ensure that our transport partners deliver according to the agreed service levels while building strong relationships focused on continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Monitor carrier performance using Transport Management System data and agreed KPIs such as delivery performance, transit times and vehicle availability
  • Analyse performance trends and discuss results with carriers to identify and implement improvement actions
  • Prepare Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) for customers and carriers based on operational performance data
  • Act as the first escalation point for structural carrier-related issues and coordinate effective resolutions
  • Support the implementation and onboarding of new customers and transport providers
  • Identify improvement opportunities within transport processes and proactively drive optimisation initiatives
  • Coordinate with carriers during peak volumes to ensure agreed service levels are maintained
  • Collaborate closely with Front Office, Operations, Customer Service, customers and carriers to ensure operational excellence

  • You are fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch is a strong asset, but not a requirement
