Job summary

Dutch Breaking News is seeking a sales-driven team member to help build its commercial side in Amsterdam. This role offers ownership over identifying brands that resonate with the expat audience, building relationships, and closing deals.

Ideal candidates will have a background in advertising or B2B sales, be fluent in English, and possess the ability to craft compelling proposals. The company provides a supportive office environment and a performance-based compensation structure.

Qualifications

• Experience in advertising, media, agency, or B2B sales.
• Fluency in English; Dutch or Turkish is a plus.
• Results-oriented and confident in proposal presentations.
• Understanding of social media advertising and the expat market is advantageous.
• EU citizenship or valid Dutch work permit is required.

Responsibilities

Dutch Breaking News is the flagship of our group of community media brands reaching the international and expat audiences living in the Netherlands. We're now looking for a sales-driven team member to turn that reach into commercial value and to build the commercial side of the business largely from the ground up.

What you'll do This role is yours end to end:

• Identify the brands and sectors our expat audience cares about (banking, telecom, real estate, e-commerce, services, and more)
• Reach out to those brands directly and build relationships with decision-makers
• Prepare tailored advertising/sponsorship concepts and proposals for each brand
• Close deals and complete the sale
• Maintain relationships with existing advertisers and drive repeat business

You’ll have a media kit to support you, but expect to shape much of the commercial structure yourself — this is a role with real ownership and significant growth potential.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in advertising, media, agency, or B2B sales
• Fluency in English – ‘Dutch or Turkish plus’
• A results-oriented profile who’s comfortable with cold outreach and confident building and presenting proposals
• Understanding of social media advertising and the expat market (a plus)
• EU citizenship or a valid Dutch work permit (required)
• Able to work on‑site from our Amsterdam office
