Job summary

Spring Café Brasserie, part of Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park in Amsterdam East, seeks a Breakfast Supervisor eager to lead and hands-on manage breakfast service.

You will head the breakfast team, allocate tasks, stay on the floor during service and ensure every guest starts the day with a personal and attentive experience. Availability for early shifts, weekends and holidays is required.

• You lead the breakfast team at Spring Café Brasserie, part of our 5-star hotel in Amsterdam East.
• You work 32 to 38 hours per week.
• You combine leading the team with hands‑on involvement during breakfast service.
• You work in a stylish café brasserie with a spacious terrace overlooking the green Oosterpark.
• You have relevant supervisory experience in a similar hospitality role.

About the role

As Breakfast Supervisor, you are responsible for ensuring that breakfast service runs smoothly every morning. You lead the breakfast team, allocate tasks and make sure everyone knows what needs to be done. At the same time, you remain actively involved on the floor and pay attention to every guest's experience.

You know how to motivate a team, communicate clear instructions and maintain an overview during busy periods. You notice when a guest needs something, when the buffet requires attention or when a colleague could use some extra support.

Together with the manager, you work towards a breakfast experience that reflects the Pillows Hotels standard: professional, personal and attentive to every detail.

What will you do?

• Prepare for breakfast service and allocate tasks within the team.
• Lead the breakfast team and guide colleagues throughout the service.
• Work hands‑on on the floor and step in wherever needed.
• Personally welcome guests and provide attentive, friendly service.
• Monitor the quality, presentation and replenishment of the breakfast offering.
• Keep track of staffing, table arrangements and the overall flow of service.
• Coordinate with colleagues from other departments to ensure a smooth morning operation.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and presentation throughout the brasserie.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute ideas to further develop our breakfast service.

Who are you?

You have experience supervising colleagues in a similar role within the hospitality industry. You understand what it takes to prepare a successful breakfast service, lead a team and give guests a wonderful start to their day.

In addition:

• You have relevant supervisory experience in a hotel, restaurant or comparable hospitality environment.
• You know how to allocate tasks and guide colleagues throughout a service.
• You enjoy working hands‑on and leading by example.
• You are available for early morning shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• You speak Dutch and English and can communicate confidently with guests and colleagues in both languages.
• You remain calm and organised when several guests need your attention at the same time.
• You have an eye for detail and immediately notice when a table, buffet or workspace needs attention.
• You take responsibility for service quality and know how to address colleagues in a clear and constructive way.
• You understand that great hospitality lies in the little things. A guest who receives a personal welcome, a beautifully presented buffet and a colleague who knows exactly what to do: you bring all these details together to create a wonderful start to the day.
