Job summary

Swapfiets in Amsterdam is looking for a bike mechanic to keep our blue wheels turning. You will repair both pedal bikes and e-bikes without supervision, ensuring every bike is roadworthy and safe for our members. Join a team that values cycling, sustainability, and service.

You will log repair data, handle special cases, and work independently or with colleagues. Eligibility: basic knowledge of e-bikes and pedal bikes, fluency in English and/or Dutch, and a passion for delivering Swapfiets

Qualifications

• You have elementary knowledge about e-bikes and pedal bikes.
• Affinity with cycling, mobility, sustainability and service.
• Understand and speak English and/or Dutch.
• You work well independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Repair pedal bikes and e-bikes with no supervision.
• Repair E-Bikes and pedal bikes and make them roadworthy.
• Ensure the Bikes' product and repair data is properly captured and up to date in repair database.
• Handle special case repairs (in use, double frame numbers, founds, missings, special brokens that require documentation for insurance/police).
• Organize broken inflow and pre-organizing of the bikes (Triage).
• Learn to work in a safe way (safety is everyone's responsibility).

As a bike mechanic at Swapfiets you are an essential part of the growth and continuity of Swapfiets. In this role you will repair all of our original and e-bikes without supervision. You are the expert in making sure our bikes are roadworthy and safe. Besides that, you will also make sure we deliver the Swapfiets quality day in, day out.

How you pedal us forward!

You will be responsible for repairing our pedal bikes and our E-bikes with no supervision needed;

You will repair E-Bikes and pedal bikes and make them roadworthy;

You will ensure the Bikes' product and repair data is properly captured and up to date in repair database;

You will be handling special case repairs (in use, double frame numbers, founds, missings, special brokens that require documentation for insurance/police);

You will organize broken inflow and pre-organizing of the bikes (Triage);

We will make sure that you learn how to work in a safe way (safety is everyone's responsibility).

The gear you need!

You have an affinity with cycling, mobility, sustainability and service;

Understand and speak English and/or Dutch;
