Job summary

Swapfiets in Rotterdam and Den Haag is seeking a dedicated Bike Hunter to lead the recovery of missing Swapfiets bikes across the city. You will coordinate field operations, staff, and warehouse logistics, acting as the primary contact for the Global Theft & Recovery Specialist and other teams.

Using GPS trackers and support from authorities, you guide the team through street sweeps, maintain a tidy warehouse and vehicle fleet, and ensure found bikes are returned to our stores.

Qualifications

• In possession of a driver's license for at least 6 months.
• Affinity with bikes and service.
• Available for 40 hours per week.
• Fluent in Dutch and/or English.

Responsibilities

• Lead bike recovery operations during shift in Rotterdam.
• Coordinate staff and tasks during a shift.
• Oversee warehouse and vehicle organization.
• Recover missing bikes with GPS trackers and liaise with law enforcement.
• Register found bikes and transport to swaps stores/warehouses.
• Answer questions from members and bystanders during bike hunts.

When bikes get stolen, our members feel the pain. And so do we! As our Bike Hunter, you will be in the lead when it comes to recovering missing bikes across Rotterdam. You'll drive the recovery operation during your shift and act as the go-to contact for the Global Theft & Recovery Specialist, fellow bike hunters, the Customer Service, and the Field Lead. Whether you’re solving complex recovery cases on the street, coordinating staffing and tasks during a shift, or overseeing warehouse and vehicle organization, this role puts you at the heart of our mission.

With trackers installed on our e-bikes and support from law enforcement, you'll guide the team in using tech and teamwork to bring bikes back to their rightful owners.

So, do you like treasure hunting and do want to help finding our missing bikes? Then this might be something for you!

Solves hunting related issues in the field and has all the needed rights in HOK to do so;

Driving the recovery targets by finding Swapfiets bikes with a different status than 'in use' by scanning all the bikes on the street during a city sweep

Keeps the vehicle and warehouse clean, tidy and organized;

Getting back missing (or bad debt) e-bikes with an active GPS-tracker

Picking up bikes at the municipality depot and bring them to the warehouse

Register the found (e)bikes in the suggested way

Bringing the found (e)bikes back to our stores / warehouses in a big van

Answers questions, and explains what they're doing, from members or people passing by during bike hunting or city sweep activities
