BESS Project Engineer – EMEA (Travel)

Job summary

Fluence is a global leader in energy storage and optimization software. The Project Engineer will coordinate engineering activities for Battery Energy Storage System projects across the EMEA region, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with requirements.

The role interfaces with internal teams, external partners, subcontractors, and customers, driving design reviews, quality standards, and safety initiatives while supporting procurement and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, project engineering, or project execution within power/renewable energy sectors.
• Experience designing or supporting utility-scale power systems, PV plants, or battery storage projects.
• Familiarity with EPC project execution and relevant electrical codes/regulations in EMEA.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage engineering activities for BESS and power infrastructure projects across the EMEA region.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet contractual requirements, specifications, and quality standards.
• Lead internal and external design review meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Promote value engineering and innovative approaches to improve design and efficiency.
• Support procurement by developing technical specs and reviewing vendor documentation.
• Take ownership of projects and provide technical leadership during execution.
• Travel across the EMEA region to support project execution and stakeholder engagement.
