Job title: Senior Consultant - Associate Director

Contract: Initial fixed term 12-month contract with the intent to extend

Location: Amsterdam. Please note all applicants must have the right to work within the EU.

The opportunity

Opinium Amsterdam is our European Headquarters and our newest office. With an impressive array of European clients, we’re on the hunt for an ambitious and commercially minded Senior Consultant / Associate Director to support the growth of key accounts, develop new opportunities and make their mark as part of this vibrant and creative team who have won by the Market Research Society Award for Best New Venture.

The role requires someone who wants to learn and develop quickly, who has strong relationship- building skills and who thrives on collaborating with multi-market client and agency teams.

Person specification

• Commercial and curious mindset with the ability to think strategically about how to approach the research questions and unafraid to offer your point of view.
• An eagerness to learn. We don’t expect you (or anyone!) to know everything. We’re looking for someone with the appetite and hunger to grow and develop.
• Ability to proactively manage your own workload – you’ll need to balance multiple stakeholders, projects, and deadlines in this role.
• Desire to make an impact. We want you to relish being part of a fast-growing and freethinking agency and want to help us develop and improve.
• Client facing. A lot of our work centres on understanding our clients as people. We’re looking for someone who thrives on building these relationships.
• As Opinium’s newest office we are very much a start-up. Regardless of level, there are times when we all need to take on tasks which are outside our remit.

Desired skills

• Fluent in English. Proficiency in other languages (particularly Turkish, Arabic or Mandarin) would also be beneficial.
• Comprehensive understanding of brand tracking methodologies, brand equity frameworks and consumer insights approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to manage delivery of strategic brand insights and analytics projects.
• Strong experience across the project lifecycle – from questionnaire development to analysis and reporting.
• Adept knowledge in sampling methodologies and designs. Ability to easily spot trends and analyse historical data.
• Strong analytical and IT skills (Excel, SPSS, Word, Google Slides, PowerPoint).
• Proven track record of building client relationships across markets.
• Excellent client, project management and communication skills – both written and verbal.
• Experience of advanced analytics (MaxDiff, Segmentation etc.) would be beneficial.
• Willingness to learn additional software skills as required.
• Self‑motivated and able to work on own initiative as well as take instruction.
• Strong team‑working skills. We are looking for candidates that can manage both upwards and downwards regardless of seniority.
• Ability to work under tight time frames on multiple projects or requests simultaneously with the ability to reprioritize as needed.
• Enthusiastic, with a flexible ‘can do’ attitude to work and a desire to develop and contribute to the company’s success.

Experience

• 8+ years of agency experience would be beneficial.
• All candidates must have experience of running multi‑market brand health tracking studies.
