Job summary

Citco in Amsterdam seeks a senior SPV Accountant to lead accounting for a group of SPVs, ensuring Dutch GAAP and IFRS compliance, and delivering timely reporting.

You will collaborate with tax advisors, auditors and clients, overseeing cash management, audits and distributions, bringing 6+ years of experience and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Accounting qualification and 6+ years in accounting.
• Knowledge of IFRS and Dutch GAAP.
• Experience with investment and real estate accounting and systems.
• Experience with standalone and consolidated financial statements.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all accounting matters for a group of SPVs, including review of work by Citco Centres of Excellence.
• Manage interim reporting and distribution schedules with depreciation/amortization and interest calculation schedules.
• Review Dutch GAAP/IFRS financial statements and filings.
• Handle tax compliance including CIT, VAT and WHT returns.
• Communicate with clients, tax advisors, lawyers, notaries and Citco offices worldwide.
• Oversee cash management for client entities.
• Support internal and external audits and audit deliverables.

Fund Administration is Citco’s core business, and our alternative asset and accounting service is one of the most respected industries. As a core member of our SPV Accounting team within the CFS team in Amsterdam, you will be working with some of the industry’s most accomplished professionals to deliver award-winning services for complex fund structures that our clients can depend upon. Our clients invest in investment properties and portfolio companies.

Responsibilities

Your Role

• Responsible for all accounting matters for a group of SPVs, predominantly belonging to one client. This includes review of the accounting done by accountants in Citco’s Centres of Excellence
• Responsible for interim reporting (Q or M) and ensure timely delivery of corresponding reporting packs, including depreciation/ amortization and interest calculation schedules/ distribution test
• Responsible for review of financial statements of Dutch SPVs prepared under the Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS including Dutch Chambers of Commerce and DNB filings
• Responsible for tax compliance work including review and timely filing of CIT, VAT and WHT returns
• Responsible for communication with clients, (tax) advisors, lawyers, notaries, other professionals, government institutions and other Citco offices worldwide, and resolve queries or elevate where necessary
• Responsible for cash management and related activities of client entities
• Responsible for internal and external audit including assistance to audit deliverable for client entities

About You

Technical Skills

• Have an accounting qualification and 6+ years of experience in an accounting position and 2+ years responsible for managing the work performed within a larger team
• Have knowledge of IFRS and Dutch GAAP
• Have knowledge of investment and real estate accounting and accounting systems (e.g. Yardi, Investran (is a plus))
• Have experience in preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements in a report generator system (Workiva) as well in Excel
• Have excellent communication skills and proficiency in English (both verbal and written)
• Familiar with tax-efficient European structures and related investment vehicles and regulatory requirements (a plus)
