Job summary

Vistra Netherlands is seeking a Senior Financial Services Accountant within Private Equity to deliver accounting services and tailored interim reports for a dedicated client portfolio. You will work with a small team to ensure Dutch GAAP and US GAAP alignment, and you’ll lead project work and coach junior accountants.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in audit or accounting.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing/coaching a small finance team.
• Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance (e.g. Accounting, Business Economics, Business Administration).

Responsibilities

• Prepare Financial Statements.
• Review bookkeeping and reconciliations according to Dutch GAAP and US GAAP principles.
• Review distributions and capital contributions; review cash flow statements.
• Prepare client-specific monthly reporting; coordinate CIT & VAT returns.
• Prepare audit file and assist with statutory audits; coordinate with Tax Advisor.
• Coordinate on client accounting requests and maintain stakeholder relationships.

As Senior Financial Services Accountant Private Equity - Vistra Funds Solutions, you will deliver accounting services and advice to Private Equity firms. This sector specific Accounting Team consists of a manager and 12 accountants.

Together with the other accountants in the team, you will provide the best service to your client portfolio in terms of ensuring the integrity of accounting records, providing customised interim reports, assisting on complex client transactions and coordinating the VAT and CIT calculations with the Tax Advisor. As Senior Accountant in the team, you work independently, are open to leading/participating in projects and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the Financial Statements;
• Review the bookkeeping (accruals, interest calculations, sales entries, movements in investment property, lease incentives, intangibles, service charges reconciliations according to Dutch GAAP but also US GAAP principle).
• Review the distributions and capital contribution requests;
• Review the cash flow statements;
• Review and prepare the Client specific monthly reporting;
• Prepare and coordinate CIT & VAT returns;
• Prepare the audit file and assist with statutory audits;
• Follow‑up and coordinate on client specific accounting requests;
• Manage the relationship contact on internal Vistra matters.
• Maintain contact with shareholders, clients, banks, accountants and other external and relevant parties;
• Ensure delivery of other services as required together with the other teams (e.g. Bank Account openings, Tax registrations etc.)
• Work in partnership with Global Service Center [GSC] colleagues to ensure end to end delivery for the client and support and coach them as needed.

Key Requirements

• 5 - 7 years of experience (audit or accounting);
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing / coaching a small (junior) finance team;
• Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance (e.g. Accounting, Business Economics, Business Administration).
