Job summary

Extreme Cashmere BV is seeking an assistant store manager for their Amsterdam store on the Utrechtsestraat. The role involves welcoming clients, advising on pieces, and building a loyal client book in a small, personal setting.

You will open/close the store, manage cash, and ensure the space aligns with our brand visuals. You will also lead the team in weekly rostering and coaching, while caring for repairs and stock movements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in retail on the shop floor, ideally luxury or premium fashion.
• Warm, trustworthy people person.
• Fluent in English and Dutch; any other language is a plus.
• Available to work weekends and occasional evenings.
• A natural leader and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients, advise on shape, qualities and care, build the client book.
• Open and close the store, handle cash and payments, maintain visuals.
• Lead the team, plan weekly rosters, train new sales associates.
• Keep the store in shape with stock checks, transfers and visual guidelines.
• Oversee care services such as washing and repairs, including for partners.
• Host events in-store with neighbours, hotels and friends of the brand.

the role

we are looking for an assistant store manager to help run our amsterdam store on the utrechtsestraat. our store is small and personal. most of our clients come back, and many know the team by name.

what you’ll do

welcome and advise

welcome clients, advise them on shape, qualities and care -and help them find the right piece. keep in touch with your regulars and build the client book. invite them to the store for new editions and evenings.

run the store

open and close the store, handle cash and payments and make sure the store looks great every morning. stand in for the store manager on her days off and during holidays.

lead the team

help the store manager plan the weekly roster, train new sales associates and coach the team on the floor. you are the first point of contact for the team when the store manager is away.

keep the store in shape

receive deliveries, check stock, run counts and handle transfers with our logistics team. keep the displays and the rails in line with our visual guidelines. tell us what sells and what clients ask for.

handle care

look after our care services, from washing and steaming to repairs, including for our partners.

host events

help prepare and run events at the store with neighbors, hotels and friends of the brand.

who you are

• 10+ years in retail on the shop floor, ideally in luxury or premium fashion, with some time as a team lead, key holder or assistant manager
• a warm, trustworthy people person
• patient, confident, knowledgeable and never pushy
• organized and calm
• a natural leader
• fluent in english and dutch; any other language is a plus
• available to work weekends and the occasional evening
• a feel for knitwear and natural fibers is a plus
