Leonardo Hotels Benelux in Amsterdam is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to support monthly reporting, period-end closings, and analysis across our hotel portfolio. You will work with the Financial Controller and Director and liaise with hotel teams and external accountants.

The role involves preparing reports, ensuring compliance, driving process improvements, and contributing to various financial projects.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a financial, accounting, or controlling role.
• Experience in the hotel or hospitality industry is a strong plus.
• Experience supporting month-end and year-end closings.
• Accurate, proactive, with a strong eye for detail.
• Fluent Dutch and English both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Job description

As Assistant Financial Controller, you will play a key role in the financial administration of several hotels within our group. You support the Financial Controller and Financial Director in ensuring accurate financial reporting, analysis, and compliance across the business.

You are involved in preparing monthly financial reports, supporting period-end closings, and analysing financial data to help improve our business performance. You maintain close contact with hotel teams and external accountants during audits and contribute to various financial projects and process improvements.

Your main workplace will be our Shared Service Office at Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Rembrandtpark, but you will also regularly visit colleagues at our other hotel locations.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, Assistant Financial Controllers, Hotel Managers, and other departments within the Shared Service Office, you help ensure that all financial processes run smoothly and accurately. No two days are the same, offering plenty of variety, responsibility, and opportunities for professional growth.

• You have at least 2 years of experience in a financial, accounting, or controlling role.

• You are comfortable preparing and analysing financial reports and reconciliations.
• You are accurate, proactive, and have a strong eye for detail.
• You combine strong analytical skills and an affinity for numbers with a natural sense of hospitality.
• You are familiar with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel systems is an advantage.
• You speak and write fluent Dutch and English.
• You are available full-time; a 4-day workweek is negotiable.
