Job summary

QCS Staffing Ltd in Amsterdam is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and review mechanical designs for data centres, focusing on practical cooling solutions for high-density computing environments. You will work with IT and electrical teams to deliver robust cooling architectures.

You will produce cooling calculations, equipment specifications, schematics, layouts and documentation, and evaluate cooling systems, including chillers, pumps and heat exchangers, while supporting liquid

Qualifications

• A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing mechanical systems for data centres or other mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling systems, heat transfer, fluid distribution and equipment selection.
• Experience preparing or reviewing engineering calculations, technical specifications and construction documentation.
• Familiarity with mechanical controls and Building Management System interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Work with electrical engineers and IT infrastructure teams to develop practical cooling solutions for high-density computing environments.
• Develop and review mechanical designs for new data centres, expansions and upgrades.
• Produce and assess cooling calculations, equipment specifications, schematics, layouts and design documentation.
• Evaluate cooling systems including chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, air-handling equipment and pipework.
• Support the integration of liquid cooling.
