Job summary

Scarabee Aviation Group in Hoofddorp, Netherlands seeks a SCADA Engineer to design, implement, and optimize SCADA/PLC systems for baggage handling globally. You will build digital twins, run tests, and coordinate tasks with the team and stakeholders.

The role requires HBO/WO in a relevant field, strong SCADA/PLC knowledge, and excellent communication in Dutch and English. You will document processes and contribute to safety/compliance in critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level HBO/WO degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation or similar.
• Experience with SCADA systems (e.g. Siemens WinCC) and PLCs (e.g. Siemens S7/TIA Portal).
• Proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• Analytical and proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to learn and quickly master complex processes.
• Experience with documenting and transferring technical knowledge.
• Awareness of safety/compliance requirements in critical infrastructure.
• Experience with digital simulations and test environments (digital twins).
• Knowledge of higher-level programming languages (C or C#) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new software and modify SCADA/PLC systems.
• Build and manage simulation software (digital twins) for test/acceptance environments.
• Perform functional and integration tests on developed software.
• Analyze and resolve malfunctions in existing control systems and software.
• Draft and maintain system documentation, work instructions, and procedures.
• Coordinate work orders and project tasks with team members and stakeholders.
• Support customers and internal teams with service and technical advice.
