Job summary

Scarabee Group in Hoofddorp is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive R&D, product development and technical innovation for the airport industry. You will own complex development projects and mentor engineers across disciplines from concept to finished product.

You will design with SolidWorks/Inventor, perform calculations, prototype, test and ensure manufacturability, safety and reliability. The role offers a competitive salary, extensive leave, pension and international team exposure.

Qualifications

At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in Mechanical Engineering, R&D, product development or a comparable technical environment.
A completed bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
Extensive experience with SolidWorks and/or Inventor.
Proven experience in product development and complex mechanical structures.
Experience with engineering calculations, prototyping and testing new solutions.
Knowledge of relevant technical standards and regulations.
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Excellent written and spoken Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

Initiating and carrying out R&D and product innovation projects.
Developing new mechanical concepts and technologies.
Conducting feasibility studies and technical analyses.
Researching and applying new materials, manufacturing techniques and structural design principles.
Developing, testing and improving prototypes.
Designing and developing complex mechanical structures and assemblies.
Preparing and reviewing engineering calculations and 2D and 3D designs.
Leading design reviews and ensuring technical quality.
Improving and further developing existing products.
Applying relevant NEN, ISO and UL standards and regulations.
Collaborating across different engineering disciplines in multidisciplinary development projects.
Mentoring and providing technical guidance to fellow engineers.
Contributing to the technical roadmap and the continued professionalisation of the Engineering department.
