Job summary

FedEx Express Netherlands B.V. is seeking a Manager Planning and Engineering to lead the Europe Air Network Planning & Engineering division.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Business, or related technical discipline.
• Excellent command of English in written and spoken form.
• Significant managerial experience (5–10 years) in planning and engineering, especially in network domain.
• Strong analytical, influencing, and decision-making skills with demonstrated leadership in planning and organizing.
• Expert knowledge of FedEx standards, external regulations, and best practices in air network operations.
• Business accreditation or qualifications.
• Experience managing projects and departmental budgets.
• Ability to ensure compliance while driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team within the Europe Air Network Planning & Engineering division.
• Plan and organize resources to identify and develop goals related to network initiatives.
• Maintain and develop expertise in Commercial Linehaul standards, external regulations, and the broader business environment.
• Lead the design and implementation of process improvements and best practices for network efficiency.
• Identify and analyze business challenges, opportunities, and constraints in air network operations.
• Conduct high-quality analysis, provide recommendations, and contribute to strategic planning for the air network.
• Oversee projects and initiatives within the air network within time and budget constraints.
• Manage the departmental budget, optimizing costs and ensuring expenditures are controlled.
• Ensure activities comply with policies, aviation regulations, and legal requirements.
• Develop and implement methods for data collation, analysis and reporting; participate in cross-regional calls and align with accounting standards.
• Build strong relationships with team and stakeholders; maintain external alignments with customers and industry bodies.
