Job summary

Mistral is seeking AI Scientists to expand our agentic tools across CAE, EDA, and CFD/FEA tasks. You will shape data, verifiers, and agent scaffolding essential to reliable model behavior and multi-step engineering workflows.

You will collaborate with CAE/EDA domain experts and the broader research team to translate engineering grounding into training signals and evaluation benchmarks that measure genuine task competence.

Qualifications

• Fluent English with strong communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deep machine learning expertise, with hands-on experience in LLM development.
• Experience running and validating engineering workflows in CAD/CAE/EDA or similar domains.

Responsibilities

• Design pretraining, SFT, and RL data for engineering tasks across CAD, CAE, and semiconductor/EDA.
• Define verifiers and evaluation criteria for correct and high-quality outputs.
• Design and improve agent architectures and tool-use for multi-step planning across long-horizon workflows.
• Build evaluation benchmarks and diagnostic tooling to identify model failures and link them to data or reward design gaps.
• Collaborate with domain experts to target high-value engineering workflows and translate grounding into training signals.
• Contribute to Mistral's broader pre- and post-training research and share methods across the science organization.
