Job summary

Mistral AI, a leader in full-stack AI solutions, is seeking Applied Scientists and Research Engineers to advance research and collaborate with clients on complex projects.

You will develop state-of-the-art models across text, image, and speech, and work with engineering, product, and client teams to deliver impactful AI solutions.

Candidates should be fluent in English, proficient in PyTorch or JAX, and capable of contributing to large codebases while operating with independence.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Proficient in Python with experience in large-scale ML projects.
• Expertise in PyTorch or JAX and building end-to-end ML pipelines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and navigate ambiguity.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Run pre-training, post-training and deploy state-of-the-art models on GPU clusters.
• Work on diverse real-world problems across robotics, finance, cybersecurity, etc.
• Generate and curate data for pre-training and evaluations to beat performance targets.
• Develop tools and frameworks for data generation, training, evaluation and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle complex use cases with agents and retrieval pipelines.
• Manage research projects and communications with client research teams.
