Job summary

qlub is hiring an AI Engineer in Amsterdam to own the end-to-end agentic loop for building, testing and shipping AI-powered payment solutions for salons. You will specify problems, orchestrate agents to implement and verify outcomes with tests, and drive secure, observable workflows across bookings, payments, and operations.

You will work with product, operations, salon partners and partner platforms to translate frictionless payments into growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience shipping production software with AI coding agents.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and agent workflows in production.
• Deep understanding of REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of databases, data modeling and database design.
• Experience with payment providers, booking or POS integrations.
• Awareness of AI-system risks: hallucinations, prompt injection, data leakage and safe tool execution.
• Experience with automated testing, evals, observability and performance optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Direct AI agents to design, build and operate secure, reliable payment services.
• Write specs, acceptance criteria, test suites and evals to verify agent outputs.
• Own integrations with salon/booking platforms and third-party systems via agents.
• Design and run the agentic development workflow: prompts, context and quality checks.
• Build AI-powered products for salons and internal teams using retrieval and tool calling.
• Ensure guardrails, observability, audit trails and fallbacks around money-touching agents.
• Identify and fix bottlenecks in speed, reliability, security and cost.
