The Role
- As a Service Account Manager, you will be the technical and commercial point of contact for customers such as shipowners in the maritime market. You will help customers keep their cooling systems reliable and efficient by offering suitable service solutions, including maintenance contracts, repairs, overhauls, spare parts and heat exchanger cleaning.
- You understand how important planning and availability are in the shipping industry. A vessel in dry dock can generate significant costs. You will therefore work closely with customers to determine suitable maintenance schedules, logistics planning and the most efficient service solution.
- You will further develop existing customer relationships and actively identify new opportunities within your market. You will regularly visit customers throughout Europe and travel for approximately one week per month. The rest of the time, you will work from home or from our office in Almere.
- This position is particularly suitable for someone with a technical background in the maritime sector who would like to move into a technical-commercial role.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage and develop customer relationships within the maritime service organization.
- Advise shipowners and shipping companies on maintenance, repairs and service solutions.
- Sell maintenance contracts, spare parts, overhauls and cleaning services.
- Identify commercial opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
- Contribute to maintenance planning and logistics solutions.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations in cooperation with internal departments.
- Regularly visit customers throughout Europe.
- Work closely with the Service, Engineering and Sales departments to provide customers with the best possible support.
Your Profile
- MBO+/HBO-level education or equivalent working and thinking ability, preferably in a technical field.
- Experience in the maritime sector, for example as a service engineer, marine engineer, ship engineer or in a similar technical position.
- Technical understanding of installations, refrigeration systems or heat exchangers, or a willingness to develop this knowledge.
- Interest in a commercial role focused on relationship management and customer advice.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Good command of both Dutch and English.
- Willingness to travel within Europe for approximately one week per month.
- An independent, entrepreneurial and proactive approach to work.
