Job summary

Impactsearch - Finance Recruitment is assisting a very successful multinational Real Estate company to recruit an Accountant for their European HQ in Amsterdam. You will report to the Management Accountant and join a large, international Finance team, gaining broad exposure to property accounting and the full lifecycle.

The role covers month-end/year-end close, financial reporting and statutory accounts, with collaboration across Property and Asset Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience; Real Estate experience or Big4 audit is a big plus.
• Strong financial accounting with month-end and year-end closing experience.
• Experience with IFRS, Dutch GAAP or German GAAP is an advantage.
• Proficient in Excel; ERP systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules as part of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close
• Support the preparation of financial reporting, statutory accounts, audit deliverables and financial analyses
• Assist with the accounting for property acquisitions, developments, asset enhancement initiatives, disposals and other property-related transactions
• Work closely with the Shared Services Centre to ensure accurate cash, intercompany and AP/AR reconciliations
• Contribute to improving finance processes, controls and reporting, while ensuring compliance with Group Accounting Policies
• Work closely with the Management Accountant and wider Finance team, building relationships with stakeholders across Property Management and Asset Management and developing your expertise in property accounting

For their European HQ in Amsterdam they are seeking to recruit a Accountant to support further growth. You will be reporting to the Management Accountant and be part of a large, international Finance team.In this role, you will gain broad exposure to property accounting, financial reporting and the full property lifecycle, working closely with colleagues across Finance as well as Property Management and Asset Management.

Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration
• Approximately 2+ years of relevant experience within a finance or accounting environment; Real Estate experience or Audit (big4) is a big plus
• Strong financial accounting and balance sheet experience, with experience in month-end and year-end closing
• Experience with statutory financial reporting and knowledge of IFRS, Dutch GAAP or German GAAP is an advantage
• Strong Excel and IT skills; experience with ERP systems and/or Yardi is a plus
• Professional working proficiency in English, with a hands-on, proactive and accurate approach; Dutch and/or German is a plus but not a requirement
