Job description

Company Description

We design chemistry. Yes, chemistry. The spark between people. The energy in the room. The collective genius that rises from a group. At Venue Collective, we believe an event that feels magical isn’t magic at all. It’s science. And we’ve studied it for years. We design the entire journey, from arrival to departure. Our ingredients: space, food, drinks, scent, energy, light and air. We obsess over every detail, with dedication and resourcefulness. We add breathing room, right where people need it. The perfect conditions for your crowd to naturally cross paths and spark new ideas. Because we believe that when relationships grow, the business follows. And we make it seem like it all happened effortlessly. Except it didn’t. We designed it. Because chemistry is our business. The right place at the right time.

Venue Collective offers a professional, dynamic environment where hospitality, design and service excellence come together to create memorable business events.

What will you do?

As Account Manager at Venue Collective, you build relationships that lead somewhere. You help clients turn an initial idea into an event with purpose, while actively creating new opportunities in the local market.

Your role combines reactive and proactive sales. You respond to incoming enquiries with speed and curiosity, guiding clients from first conversation to confirmed booking. At the same time, you go out and find the organisations, agencies and partners who should know Venue Collective. You call, meet, visit and connect – not to deliver a standard sales pitch, but to understand what people are working towards and where we can make a difference.

You develop relationships with direct corporate clients as well as DMCs and other intermediaries. You are visible at networking events across Amsterdam, keep close to what is happening in the city and turn relevant encounters into long-term commercial partnerships.

Throughout the process, you balance commercial ambition with operational reality. You protect pricing and margins, keep the CRM and pipeline accurate and make sure every confirmed event is handed over clearly to Operations. Because winning the business matters – and delivering what we promised matters just as much.

Reactive sales
  • Manage incoming enquiries from direct clients, DMCs, agencies, partners and existing relationships.
  • Respond quickly and personally, taking ownership from first contact to signed contract.
  • Understand the event’s purpose, audience, programme, budget, decision process and desired outcome.
  • Advise on venues, spaces, set‑ups, catering, technology, logistics and additional services.
  • Prepare clear, creative and commercially sound proposals, options and contracts.
  • Follow up consistently, handle objections and ask for the booking at the right moment.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling, repeat business, referrals and long‑term account growth.
  • Provide Operations with a complete and workable commercial handover.
Proactive sales and new business
  • Identify and approach prospective clients in Amsterdam and the wider local market.
  • Build a healthy prospect pipeline through calls, introductions, meetings and targeted outreach.
  • Visit clients at their offices to understand their organisation, people and event ambitions.
  • Invite prospects and partners to experience Venue Collective’s locations in person.
  • Attend relevant networking events and represent Venue Collective across the city.
  • Develop productive relationships with DMCs, event agencies and other intermediaries.
  • Create and execute account plans for high‑potential clients and partners.
  • Reactivate previous clients, lost opportunities and dormant relationships.
  • Share market insights that help improve our propositions, partnerships and sales approach.
Who are you?

You are naturally curious and commercially driven. You enjoy meeting new people, asking good questions and spotting the opportunity behind a conversation. You are confident enough to open doors and grounded enough to listen before offering an answer.

You know that strong relationships are built through attention, reliability and follow‑through. You can move comfortably between an informal conversation at a city event, a strategic meeting with a corporate decision‑maker and a detailed proposal that needs to be exactly right.

You also:

  • Have experience in account management, business development, event sales, venue sales or hospitality.
  • Bring a relevant network, or know how to build one with energy and consistency.
  • Enjoy both converting warm enquiries and creating opportunities from scratch.
  • Are comfortable calling new prospects and arranging face‑to‑face meetings.
  • Understand the value of DMCs, agencies and intermediaries within the events market.
  • Combine commercial awareness with genuine hospitality and strong relationship skills.
  • Work independently, methodically and accurately while remaining flexible.
  • Are comfortable working with a CRM, pipeline targets and commercial KPIs.
  • Have an excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • Know Amsterdam and enjoy being an active, visible part of its business community.
What do we offer?
  • A varied commercial role with a genuine balance between inbound sales and new business.
  • An inspiring working environment at distinctive venues in Amsterdam.
  • The freedom to build relationships and develop the local market in your own way.
  • Contact with ambitious local and international organisations, DMCs and event professionals.
  • An engaged team in which Sales and Operations work closely together.
  • Room to contribute ideas and help shape our commercial approach.
  • Opportunities to keep growing, both professionally and personally.
  • A competitive employment package based on your experience.
