A note on the technical side of this role: This is a technical position, and we want to be upfront about that so you can judge the fit for yourself. The strongest signal is that you've already built things with AI and automation tools, e.g. set up a workflow with webhooks, written a script to solve a problem, or connected APIs to get something done. If you've done things like this, even self-taught, even imperfectly, and even outside a sales context, you're likely who we're looking for. If your experience with AI so far is mostly chat-based, this role is probably not the right fit.
This role requires fluent Dutch and English.
About Coolset
Coolset is the ESG & supply chain platform for compliance-first teams. We help companies like Karl Lagerfeld and Australian Gold measure, manage and improve their sustainability disclosures, simplifying complex regulations to enable real impact.
Founded in 2022 and backed by a remarkable group of early-stage investors, we're a fast-growing team of 20 engineers, researchers and commercial talent based in Amsterdam.
What you will do
You'll own revenue outcomes and build the go-to-market engine underneath them. This is a GTM Engineer role: half of your time goes into running real deals, the other half into designing the systems and automations that make the whole commercial function work. Running deals informs the systems you build, and the systems you build make every deal after that easier.
When you find yourself doing the same thing twice, you'll treat it as useful information: question the assumption, build a system, and free yourself up for work that uses your creativity. We believe action creates information, so you'll ship, learn from what happens, and iterate with the team around you to support that.
You will cover:
- 50% Sales execution and commercial strategy: You'll own a revenue target and the strategy for hitting it. That means the full cycle from first touch to go-live: identifying prospects, helping future customers navigate their priorities, aligning them with Coolset's solutions, and landing on a commercial proposition that makes them successful. You'll also shape our ICP, pricing, and channel strategy alongside the leadership team, and your view will carry weight in commercial planning.
- 25% Go-to-market automation, systems and infrastructure: Design and maintain the automations that connect our commercial stack end-to-end. Build internal apps in Claude Code, connect APIs, set up webhooks, and remove manual work wherever it doesn't add value. Own and evolve our core tooling and keep data clean, integrations healthy, and reporting reliable. You're designing the commercial operating system you will eventually run a team on.
- 25% Technical GTM engineering and experimentation: Build internal tools, scripts, and prototypes that accelerate our sales and marketing efforts. Run experiments across channels, messaging, and tactics: try things, measure what matters, and double down on what works. Judgment matters here; not everything that can be measured should be, and not everything worth doing shows up in a dashboard immediately.
Tools we use
- Claude Code for building internal tools and accelerating work
- HubSpot for CRM & email marketing
- Apollo for company and contact data
- Webflow for our website and landing pages
- n8n for workflow automations
- Notion for documentation and planning
- Anything else you need
We're hiring for trajectory, not just the role as it stands today. The person we're looking for will be put on a path to grow into commercial leadership at Coolset. As the team scales, we expect this role to evolve toward leading our go-to-market function, and we'll invest in you accordingly: direct mentorship, exposure to strategy and planning, and increasing ownership of team and number. Ownership starts on day one and the role expands in the direction that matches your ambition and results.
Your profile
- You are fluent in English and Dutch
- You've owned a number before: you've carried a quota or a revenue or pipeline target, and you can talk about how you hit or missed it
- You've closed B2B deals yourself, ideally SaaS, ideally in a founder-led or early-stage environment
- You have hands-on technical experience: you've worked with APIs and webhooks, and you've built things with tools like Claude Code or n8n (or similar), whether at work or in your own projects
- You are based in or around Amsterdam and excited to build alongside a growing team, 3 days in office
Beyond those, you don't need to tick every box. If most of this also describes you, we'd love to hear from you:
- You think in systems: when you see repetitive work, you see an opportunity to automate
- You enjoy a hands-on approach and get energy from rapid experimentation
- You care about quality and consistency in everything you ship, from an email subject line to a landing page to an internal workflow
- You're analytical and comfortable working with assumptions and incomplete information
- You've seen what a scaled commercial org looks like, or you're deliberate about learning it, because you'll be building ours
Our process
- 20 min video screen: We get to know you and answer any questions you might have
- 60 min case interview: You'll prepare and work through a case study of a GTM challenge we're facing
- 2-hour co-build session & team lunch: Get to know the team through hands-on work, and join one of our lunches to connect with the rest
- Closing conversation with our founding team: A direct conversation about ambition, ownership, and your trajectory at Coolset
- If successful: An offer within 48 hours to join Coolset
- Salary with attractive bonus schedule, plus
- Stock option plan
- Company lunches and bagel Fridays
- Flexibility in holidays (25+ days per year)
- Flexible and remote working arrangements
- Annual offsite and monthly events with the Coolset team
