Job summary

Asia Pacific Spiral Sdn Bhd is seeking a Welding Inspector to inspect welded products after welding, perform visual and dimensional checks, and identify defects such as cracks and porosity. You will review welding docs, coordinate with welders, and ensure corrective actions are taken for defective welds.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, familiarity with inspection tools, and knowledge of welding standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent in Welding, Quality Control, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in welding inspection or quality control is preferred.
• Knowledge of welding processes, welding defects, and inspection methods.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Familiar with basic measuring tools and inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant welding/quality standards is an advantage.
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may also be considered.

Identify welding defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, and other abnormalities.

Verify weld dimensions, alignment, and overall workmanship according to drawings and specifications.

Review welding documents, inspection reports, and related quality records.

Coordinate with welders, welding leaders, and production personnel to resolve quality issues.

Ensure corrective actions are properly carried out for rejected or defective welds.

Assist in arranging NDT activities.

Prepare and maintain inspection reports and quality documentation.

Ensure products comply with company procedures, applicable standards, and customer requirements.

Support internal and external quality audits when required.
