Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Welding Inspector with at least 3 years of welding/fabrication experience and a valid AWS CWI certification. You will prepare and review welding procedures, manage procedures and records, and coordinate with clients and inspectors to ensure compliance with ASME/AWS/ISO standards.

Proficiency in GTAW/TIG, stainless-steel fabrication, and the ability to read drawings is required; NDT knowledge is a plus. Flexi benefits and a team-oriented environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in welding, fabrication, or a related engineering role.
• Valid AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is mandatory.
• Practical knowledge of welding procedure and qualification requirements, including WPS, PQR, and WQT.
• Familiarity with ASME, AWS, ISO, SEMI, and project/customer welding requirements.
• Experience with GTAW/TIG, orbital welding, and stainless-steel fabrication will be an advantage.
• Able to understand technical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications.
• Knowledge of weld inspection methods and NDT requirements.
• Good problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and control welding procedures and qualification records.
• Manage welding parameters, materials, consumables, and process requirements.
• Monitor fabrication work to ensure welding is carried out according to approved procedures.
• Arrange and oversee welder qualification and maintain relevant certification records.
• Carry out visual examination of welds and assist with required inspection and NDT activities.
• Prepare and maintain weld traceability documents, weld maps, inspection records, and related reports.
• Identify welding non-conformities and work with the relevant teams on corrective actions.
• Support improvements to welding methods, quality, efficiency, and production performance.
• Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and relevant certification authorities when required.
