Job summary

Asia Pacific Spiral Sdn Bhd is seeking a Welding Inspector to inspect welded products after welding, perform visual and dimensional checks, and identify defects such as cracks and porosity. You will review welding docs, coordinate with welders, and ensure corrective actions are taken for defective welds.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, familiarity with inspection tools, and knowledge of welding standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent in Welding, Quality Control, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in welding inspection or quality control is preferred.
• Knowledge of welding processes, welding defects, and inspection methods.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Familiar with basic measuring tools and inspection equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant welding/quality standards is an advantage.
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welded products and components after welding activities.
• Perform visual inspection and dimensional checks on welds.
• Identify welding defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, and abnormalities.
• Verify weld dimensions, alignment, and workmanship per drawings and specs.
• Review welding documents, inspection reports, and quality records.
• Coordinate with welders and production staff to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure corrective actions for rejected or defective welds are carried out.
• Assist in arranging NDT activities.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.
