Job summary

MTD Industries in Johor, Malaysia, seeks a Welding/Production Supervisor to create, update and enforce welding department procedures and ISO-compliant documents. You will ensure daily tasks align with job descriptions, coordinate with teams to meet schedules, study welding processes for new products, and contribute to WPS creation and welder qualification planning.

Responsibilities

• Create and update welding department procedures and ISO-compliant documents.
• Ensure daily tasks align with job descriptions and JD requirements.
• Coordinate and monitor work progress to meet schedules or customer demands.
• Study welding processes for new products per customer requirements.
• Involve in WPS creation and development for production use.
• Participate in welder WQT planning and welder development programs.
• Improve welding process capability to meet production demands.
• Monitor product quality to meet customer requirements.
• Plan manpower headcount and monitor department utilization.
• Monitor monthly cost and revenue performance and report to management.
• Design production layouts and lean production floor plans.
• Maintain safety and 5S compliance; manage environmental controls.
• Support customer audits and engage with related departments for new products and tech.
• Plan resources to support issues at customer sites as required.
• Develop and implement cost-effective working processes and continuous improvement.
• Maintain department assets and participate in corrective actions for improvements.
• Develop and approve new work instructions and standards for production.
• Collaborate with engineering on tool or jig design for production use.
• Support other duties assigned by management.
• Communicate and monitor vendor performance and attendance at customer meetings.
• Assist employees with welfare, benefits, and annual/appraisal processes.
• Provide training for new hires or upskilling of staff.

1. To create, develop or updating welding department procedure and document according to company ISO requirement.
2. To ensure employee perform daily task as required cording to position and JD requirement.
3. To coordinate and monitor the progress of work that required to be completed with specific schedule time or as required by customer that set by management.
4. To study welding process for the new product from customer by following the client requirement.
5. To involve on WPS creation and development that suit production usage as per customer requirement.
6. To participate and involve in welder WQT planning and Welder development program.
7. To Improve welding process capability to suit production demand.
8. To monitor quality of product to meet customer requirement.
9. To plan manpower headcount requirement and monitor department manpower utilization.
10. To monitor monthly cost and revenue performance and submitted monthly revenue report to management.
11. To design production layout and lean production floor as per production demand.
12. Maintaining safe working environment by complying to company safety system and requirement and monitoring of 5S System implementation
13. Maintaining work environmental control by controlling of disposal chemical or use item.
14. To assist and support with customer audit
15. Work with all related department for new product discussion, New Customer requirement and new technology implementation.
16. Plan and deploy resources to support issues at customer site as require.
17. Develop a cost-effective working process and continues improvement
18. Maintaining of Department Assets
19. To Involve in corrective action activities for continues improvement
20. Develop and approval of new Work instruction (WI) and standard for production use.
21. To participate in tools or jig design with engineering team for production use.
22. To support others duty assigned by the management from time to time.
23. To communicate and monitor the performance of vendor or supplier
24. Attending customer meeting and discussion.
25. To assist employee on company welfare and benefit.
26. Conducting counseling for employee when required.
27. Conducting yearly appraisal, confirmation appraisal or promotion for employee
28. To perform training for new employee or upgrading of knowledge or skill.
