Job summary

Wentel Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Welder to join our fabrication team in Malaysia. You will interpret blueprints, plan layouts, and weld components using TIG and MIG processes on sheet metal in a production setting.

The role requires 2 years of welding experience, ability to read engineering drawings, and strict adherence to safety standards. We offer a 5-day work week, EPF+SOCSO, medical benefits, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Institute of Technical College or Polytechnic in welding.
• Able to perform TIG / MIG welding.
• 2 years’ experience in welding sheet metal in a metal production manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to recognize weld symbols.
• Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques.
• Knowledge of Safety & quality awareness.
• Self-driven and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
• Weld small and large components such as panels, hollow, and frames.
• Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform the same job.
• Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
• Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
• Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Take and read measurements.
• Set up components for welding.
• Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp the pieces.
• Report damages on machines and equipment.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
