Job summary

Sedar Perkasa Sdn. Bhd. is a DOSH-certified fabricator of pressure vessels, air receivers and industrial tanks in Seremban, seeking a skilled TIG (argon) welder who consistently produces radiography (RT) quality welds.

Responsibilities include GTAW welding on carbon steel and stainless steel, reading fabrication drawings and WPS, joint fit-up, TIG machine setup, and visual inspection. 3G/4G/6G preferred; eligible to work in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• GTAW (TIG) welding on carbon steel and stainless steel pressure vessels, nozzles, piping and fittings.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols and WPS.
• Prepare joints: fit-up, bevel checking, alignment, cleaning and tack welding.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate TIG welding machines with correct parameters and gas flow.
• Carry out weld root passes and full joints to approved WPS with RT acceptance standards.
• Perform visual inspection of own welds and repair defects found by RT or inspection.
• Support SMAW/FCAW fill and cap welding when required.
• Keep work area tidy and maintain welding equipment.

Job description

Sedar Perkasa Sdn. Bhd. is a DOSH-certified fabricator of pressure vessels, air receivers and industrial tanks, built to ASME Section VIII Div. 1, at Green Technology Park, Seremban 2. We are looking for a skilled TIG (argon) welder who consistently produces radiography (RT) quality welds.

Responsibilities:

Perform GTAW (TIG/argon) welding on carbon steel and stainless steel pressure vessels, nozzles, piping and fittings.

Weld root passes and full joints to approved WPS, meeting radiography (RT) acceptance standards.

Read and follow fabrication drawings, welding symbols and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

Prepare joints: fit-up, bevel checking, alignment, cleaning and tack welding.

Set up and operate TIG welding machines with correct parameters, gas flow and filler wire.

Carry out visual inspection of own welds and repair defects found by RT or inspection.

Support SMAW/FCAW fill and cap welding where required.

Keep the work area tidy, maintain welding equipment and follow safety and PPE rules.

Requirements:

At least 3 years’ welding experience, with at least 2 years of TIG/argon welding on pressure vessels, piping or similar code work.

Proven ability to produce RT-pass welds. Candidates must pass a practical weld test at interview, which may be radiographed.

Welder qualification to ASME Section IX (WPQ) is preferred. 3G/4G or 6G position preferred.

Experience welding both carbon steel and stainless steel.

SMAW or FCAW skills are an added advantage.

Able to read drawings and welding symbols.

Able to work independently, willing to work overtime when required.

Must be eligible to work in Malaysia.

What we offer:

Monthly salary RM2,800 - RM4,000, based on qualification and weld test result
