Acolite Holding Group in Malaysia is seeking an experienced welder to join our fabrication team. You will set up, operate and monitor welding equipment to produce conforming joints across flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.

With 2+ years of welding experience and a valid welding certificate, you will follow safety practices, inspect welds against specifications and collaborate with engineers to meet project deadlines. Immediate start available.

Qualificações

• 2+ years of welding experience.
• Must possess a valid welding certificate or recognized welding qualification.
• WPQ/WQT or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.
• Arrange welded parts in order before assembly using measuring tools.
• Follow all safe work practices.
• Obtain parts and materials.
• Access the area to be welded as needed.
• Use a disc grinder to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to welding.
• Operate manual and automated welding units and deposit metal to join edges.
• Maintain arc length and speed for specified fusion depth.
• Weld in flat and vertical positions (all-position welding).
• Examine welds for bead size and specifications.

Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner, and that all safety devices are in use for welding work. Welding spare parts in various directions: flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead. Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, bolting, or grinding spare parts as necessary to satisfy the technical requirements and create a welded final product. Operating other accessory equipment and performing tasks necessary for welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs. Control the processes of fitting and welding to avoid problems in relation to overheating, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage of spare parts. Examine finished products and spare parts and compare them with samples to check whether the specifications are met.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs, such as screen, shielded metal arc, gas metal arc, or other welding equipment.

Arrange and ensure welded parts are arranged in order before being assembled into final products, using tools such as a square, caliper, or ruler.

Follow all safe work practices.

Obtain parts and materials.

Access the area to be welded by climbing a ladder if needed.

Use a disc grinder to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to welding.

Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment by depositing metal from the electrode to the workpiece and joining edges of the workpiece.

Maintain length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead.

Weld in flat and vertical planes (all position welding).

Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.

About you

2+ years of work experience in Welding.

Must possess a valid welding certificate or recognized welding qualification.

Candidates with WPQ (Welding Performance Qualification), WQT (Welding Qualification Test), or equivalent certification are preferred.

Relevant welding experience will be an added advantage.

Minimum SPM or high school diploma or equivalent.

Has a driving license B2 or D.

Preferable work experience with Steel.

Able to start work immediately or on short notice is preferred.

Able to travel is an advantage.

Able to work on Sundays and public holidays is an advantage.
