Job summary

Aluminium Company of Malaysia Bhd is looking for a technically skilled furnace operator to set up, operate, and monitor annealing furnaces in line with production requirements. You will manage furnace parameters and recipes using MES and SCADA, while ensuring product quality and process efficiency.

The role requires monitoring temperature profiles, reacting to alarms, performing basic troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment. Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Requires Diploma or SKM Level 3 in mechanical/ electrical/ mechatronics/ metallurgy or related field.
• 1–2 years’ experience in annealing furnace operations, industrial heat treatment, or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with MES/SCADA, sensors, flowmeters, and control systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor annealing furnaces per production requirements and specifications.
• Manage and verify furnace parameters and recipes using MES and SCADA.
• Monitor temperature profiles, cycles, and gas consumption to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Respond to furnace alarms, perform basic troubleshooting, and minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections and autonomous maintenance, including sensor cleaning and filter replacement.
• Record production data and report abnormalities to supervisors; support TPM and safety practices.

Job description

Set up, operate, and monitor annealing furnaces according to production requirements and process specifications.

Manage and verify furnace operating parameters and recipes using MES and SCADA systems.

Monitor temperature profiles, annealing cycles, nitrogen and natural gas consumption to ensure consistent product quality and process efficiency.

Monitor furnace alarms, perform basic troubleshooting, and make necessary adjustments to minimize equipment downtime.

Conduct routine inspections and autonomous maintenance, including cleaning sensors, checking oxygen analysers, and replacing filters.

Record production data, gas meter readings, equipment performance, and report any abnormalities to supervisors.

Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement activities.

Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures, conduct safety observations, and practise the company's core values.

Requirements

Minimum Diploma or Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, or related technical fields.

Preferably 1–2 years of working experience in annealing furnace operations, industrial heat treatment, or manufacturing environments.

Basic knowledge of temperature control, furnace operations, process monitoring, and industrial machinery.

Familiarity with MES, SCADA, sensors, flowmeters, and industrial control systems is an added advantage.

Able to perform basic troubleshooting, equipment inspections, and routine maintenance.

Good understanding of workplace safety, product quality, and production efficiency.

Fresh graduates with relevant technical qualifications are encouraged to apply.
