uParcel is establishing its first Malaysia warehouse and fulfilment operation in Kuala Lumpur. You will own the end-to-end setup, adapt the Singapore playbook for Malaysia, and hire/lead the KL team.
You will work closely with Singapore teams while taking full ownership in KL, delivering from facility search to day-to-day execution. The role requires 5–8 years in warehouse/logistics, strong leadership, and ability to translate operational needs into system requirements.
This is a founding role for uParcel's Malaysia warehouse and fulfilment business. You will be the person on the ground in KL responsible for turning a blank slate into a fully running warehouse operation - from finding and setting up the facility, to adapting Singapore's playbook for the Malaysian market, to hiring and leading the team that will run it day to day. You'll work closely with the Singapore operations and tech teams throughout, but you will own execution in KL.
This role suits someone who is comfortable wearing many hats: part project manager during the setup phase, part operations leader once the warehouse is live, and part problem-solver whenever something unexpected comes up - which, in a new market, it will.
Identify, evaluate, and shortlist suitable warehouse facilities in the Klang Valley, considering cost, accessibility, and space requirements.
Lead negotiations with landlords/agents and coordinate the lease, fit-out, and move-in process.
Set up the physical infrastructure: racking, storage layout, packing stations, safety and security systems, and equipment procurement.
Ensure the facility is compliant with local regulations, licensing, and workplace safety requirements.
Learn Singapore's warehouse and fulfilment SOPs in depth - inbound, storage, pick-pack, outbound, returns, and inventory control.
Adapt and document these SOPs for the Malaysian operation, adjusting for local regulations, labour practices, and market conditions.
Build out training materials and standard operating procedures for the KL team.
Partner with the Singapore tech team on the warehouse management system (WMS) and related software needed to run KL operations.
Plan headcount and hire the initial KL warehouse team - supervisors, pickers/packers, drivers, and support staff.
Own daily warehouse operations once live: receiving, storage, order fulfilment, dispatch, and inventory accuracy.
5-8 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or fulfilment operations, including experience setting up or scaling a new site, facility, or market.
Proven ability to manage a project end-to-end.
Strong people leadership skills, with experience hiring, training, and managing warehouse or frontline teams.
Comfortable working directly with technical/product teams to translate operational needs into system requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a calm, practical approach to handling operational fires and customer escalations.
Willing to be hands-on - this role will require physically covering shifts and working on the warehouse floor when needed, especially in the early stages.
Familiarity with the Klang Valley market (logistics, real estate, labour landscape) is a strong plus.
Comfortable with regular communication and occasional travel to Singapore, especially during the setup and knowledge-transfer phase.
