SRM Integration is a leading provider of machine vision solutions in Penang, Malaysia. We seek a Vision Application Support Engineer to be the technical face of the company on automated production lines.

You will bridge optical hardware and inspection software, perform on-site and remote setup and calibration, lead FAT/SAT, train customer teams, and provide field data to R&D for product enhancements. This role requires strong troubleshooting, clear client communication, and a passion for yield

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
• Strong understanding of machine vision ecosystem (Sensors, Optics, Lighting, Processing).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot automated equipment in fast-paced manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• System Integration & Optimization: on-site/remote setup, calibration, fine-tuning of vision systems for high accuracy.
• Advanced Troubleshooting: diagnose hardware/software issues in cameras, lighting, and image acquisition.
• Yield Improvement: analyze data to reduce false rejects and overkill while optimizing yields.
• Validation & Buy-off: lead FAT and SAT to verify system performance against specs.
• Technical Training: educate customer teams on recipe setup and maintenance.
• R&D Feedback Loop: provide field data to drive product enhancements.

Job description

As a Vision Application Support Engineer, you will be the technical face of the company, ensuring that our machine vision solutions are integrated seamlessly into automated production lines. You will bridge the gap between complex optical hardware and sophisticated inspection software, providing high-level support to global manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

• System Integration & Optimization: Perform on-site and remote setup, calibration, and fine-tuning of vision systems to ensure maximum accuracy in defect detection.
• Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose hardware and software issues involving industrial cameras, high-speed lighting, and image acquisition protocols.
• Yield Improvement: Analyze inspection data to minimize false rejects and overkill, ensuring clients achieve optimal production yields.
• Validation & Buy-off: Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to verify system performance against client specifications.
• Technical Training: Educate customer engineering teams on recipe setup, algorithm adjustment, and system maintenance.
• R&D Feedback Loop: Act as the "voice of the customer" by providing field data to R&D and Software teams for product enhancement.

Technical Requirements

• Education: Degree/Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
• Core Knowledge: Understanding of the machine vision ecosystem (Sensors, Optics, Lighting, and Processing).
• Analytical Skills: Proven ability to troubleshoot automated equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Communication: Ability to explain complex technical solutions to both internal teams and external clients.

Professional Advantages (Good to Have)

• Optics & Lighting: Expertise in Optics & Lighting (Selection of FOV, DOF, and wavelength-specific lighting).
• Experience with Semiconductor/Electronics assembly or inspection processes.
• Familiarity with image processing libraries or inspection logic configuration.
