Job summary

MYFutureJobs in Malaysia is seeking a Veterinary Technician to conduct daily health monitoring and assist the Veterinarian in diagnosis, treatment, vaccination, and disease prevention on a dairy cattle farm.

You will monitor sick and high-risk animals, support reproductive management, maintain records, collect samples, and ensure compliance with SOPs, animal welfare, and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in dairy cattle health or veterinary care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily health monitoring and inspection of dairy cattle.
• Assist the Veterinarian in diagnosis, treatment, vaccination, and disease prevention.
• Monitor sick, injured, and high-risk animals and ensure proper follow-up.
• Assist with reproductive management, including heat detection, pregnancy monitoring, calving, and postpartum care.
• Monitor the health and development of calves and young stock.
• Support implementation of farm biosecurity and animal welfare procedures.
• Assist in the proper handling, storage, and recording of veterinary medicines and treatments.
• Maintain accurate records for animal health, treatment, vaccination, mortality, and reproduction.
• Collect samples and assist with laboratory testing and disease investigations.
• Monitor animals under treatment and ensure compliance with milk withdrawal periods.
• Provide technical guidance to farm workers on animal handling, hygiene, health monitoring, and disease prevention.
• Prepare routine veterinary and herd health reports.
• Ensure veterinary activities comply with relevant SOPs, animal welfare, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Veterinarian or Management.
