Job summary

SKOM Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Vessel Operations Coordinator to ensure safe and efficient execution of chartered vessel activities. You will liaise with Vessel Masters, implement company and client procedures, and drive compliance across offshore and onshore sites.

The role requires strong negotiation, planning and communication skills, with experience managing multiple vessels, meeting timelines, budgeting and reporting.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years working experience with 3 years in relevant position.
• Negotiation.
• Strong persuasion and communication skills with people at all levels.
• Organizing and planning skills, especially in project management.
• Ability to manage multiple vessels, plan against timeline and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Vessel Masters to execute implementations and instructions.
• Collaborate with HSSE Manager to ensure compliance of procedures offshore and onshore.
• Review daily vessel reports and take preventive actions on operational issues.
• Ensure all SOPs, policies and procedures are implemented and maintained offshore and onshore.
• Participate in safety programs and report unsafe acts or good practices observed.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to track requisitions and prevent delays.
• Monitor deck adequacy and bridge purchase requirements to support the Purchaser.
• Maintain relationships with clients and coordinate their requirements.
• Attend regular operational meetings.
