About the job Senior Manager (HSEQ) - Shipping

• Track the advancement of the company's HSEQ (ship management) systems.
• Inform the GM of the developments regarding the HSEQ issues in Malaysia.
• Observe the operating statistics
• Observe employee training on health, safety, the environment, and quality both in the workplace and on board.
• Ensuring that all business and flag state regulations pertaining to health, safety, quality, and the environment are completely adhered to by company boats.
• When asked by GM, assist with tender procedures and matters pertaining to the HR Crew.
• In order to obtain ship security assessments and plans, communicate with the company security officer.
• Oversee and take charge of the procedures for the Dry Cargo Fleet and the Marine assurance procedures (SIRE and TMSA) for gas vessels in general.
• As needed, offer assistance with operations and marine-related issues.
• Operation manuals for the vessel types under supervision are kept up to date and supported in their ongoing improvement.
• Individual assigned specific responsibilities and tasks as detailed in the Malaysia Office Contingency Manual as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
• Possess the training and expertise necessary to undertake incident investigations, and to carry out such tasks as requested by the GM/DPA.

Maritime Insurance

• Plan LNG/LPG group vessel vetting inspections and keep up with approvals that charterers, terminals, and owners demand. Closing the loop on OCIMF and energy majors
• Keep a database of vetting inadequacies and produce reports for both internal and external comparison. Keep up-to-date all commercial questionnaires for LPG and tanker vessels.
• Perform pre-vetting inspections as needed, train ship personnel to prepare for vetting inspections, and be present on board for vetting inspections, cargo operation monitoring, and coolant loading operations as needed. (For all vessels in the LNG/LPG group)
• Support the LNG/LPG Group vessels as needed in marine and operational problems.
• Tanker and gas carrier operation manuals should be kept up to date and improved upon on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

• Technical and nautical credentials, ideally with prior seafaring
• Comprehensive understanding of laws, norms, and industry standards
• Strong background in maritime HSEQ work
• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
• Rudimentary computer skills
• Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to build tight bonds with shipboard employees, ship owners, charterers, and auditing and inspecting organisations.
• Certification for Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation Course (Validity 5 Years)
• Certification for ISM/ISO Auditors
• Attendance and experience in DPA courses
• Certification and training for ISM/ISO courses
